Happy birthday, Ali baba!

Ali turns 41 today!! Happy birthday, daddy :)

(在這裡用中文抱怨一下. 本來是想帶阿里去曼哈頓吃高級日本料理, 昨晚還在 twitter 上問大家有沒有什麼推薦的餐廳, 感謝親朋好友在 FB 上和 blog 上的回應, 我最後選了三家讓阿里來挑: Sugiyama, Sushi Yasuda, Masa. 沒想到他超級懶, 竟然說不想大老遠跑去曼哈頓吃晚餐, 我只好又在 Forest Hills 選了一家在 Yelp 上頗受好評, 位於 Yellowstone Blvd. 的 Sushi Yasu. 倒楣的是我們都到了門口才知道人家竟然禮拜二公休, 只好到兩個月前阿里帶我去的 outdoor shopping mall Atlas Park 裡吃日本料理. 這家 Shiro of Japan 還不錯, 魚算新鮮, presentation 也很漂亮, 但是沒有到曼哈頓去晃晃還是有點掃興. 這麼懶怪不得沒有朋友, 下次要出去抽 hookah 找不到朋友的時候就不要牽拖, 竟然說是跟我結婚之後就沒有朋友要跟他來往了, 那根本不是我的錯! 要不然怎麼我結婚之後朋友還是很多呢?)

Grandpa and grandma were kind enough and offered to baby-sit for us, so we took advantage of that and had a romantic dinner together. (謝謝阿公阿媽!) On our way home, we stopped by Martha's bakery and brought a carrot cake home. Hasan and Kareem were excited as usual - not because it's daddy's birthday but because they had an opportunity to blow the candles again!

Now it's Kareem's turn to blow the candles. (When you have two kids, it's all about being fair....)

Oh no....now Hasan was pissed because Kareem was not supposed to blow the candles. "It was MY birthday!" said Hasan. (Wait, but I thought it was daddy's birthday??)



So we lit up the candles again for Hasan.



Oh man....now Kareem was crying because Hasan blew twice but he only blew once.



Alright.....it's Kareem's turn.....AGAIN!



Well, so you know what happened next. The boys took turns crying and blowing candles. The whole night we kept lighting up candles again and again and again.....

It's not easy being fair all the time. What a tiring 41st birthday!
